The Boswell Engine is operated by Atma Degeyndt, a New York City registered sole proprietor. When this page says "we," that is who it means, so mostly it means me, Atma. Questions, requests, threats: atma@growthbastards.com.
We run no ad trackers, third-party analytics, or marketing cookies. We use no outside form tools. Our web host keeps standard server logs, things like IP addresses and pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
You give us two kinds of information: how to reach you, and the names on your list. We use both for exactly one purpose: running the engine for you. Your list lives on our servers, walled off in its own silo. It is never sold, never rented, never shared with another client, and it improves only your runs.
The research itself runs through business-grade AI services from Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, and Exa, the same models the rest of this site describes. We use their commercial APIs, whose terms do not permit them to train their models on what we send. They process; they do not keep, learn from, or reuse.
You may be reading this because a client of ours had your name on a list. Here is the whole of it: we read only what is already public. Things you said or published in the open, articles, talks, posts, and interviews. We buy nothing from data brokers, we touch no private accounts, and we verify identity carefully so we never confuse you with someone who shares your name.
If you would rather not be researched at all, email us. We will remove your profile and place your name on a do-not-research register so it stays removed. The register keeps only your name, because that is what honoring the request requires.
Client data stays while we work together, plus a short wind-down, and then it goes. Anyone, client or research subject, can ask what we hold about them, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We honor verified requests, and we treat no one differently for asking.
Your data sits on our servers, behind access controls, encrypted in transit. No one touches it who does not need to.
Depending on where you live, including California, the EU, and the UK, the law grants you rights to access, correct, delete, and object to the processing of your personal information. We honor those rights everywhere, for everyone, because it is simpler and it is right. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act. This site and service are for working adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18.
If this policy changes, the new version goes up here with a new date at the top. No silent edits.
You send a list. The engine researches it, cuts it down, profiles who is left, and delivers finished copy your team can send. We promise a careful, honest process, run the way this site describes. Markets have their own opinions, so we do not guarantee revenue, replies, or outcomes.
The list is yours to share: business contacts, gathered lawfully, with the right to hand them to us for this work.
Everything we deliver. The verdicts, the reasons, the registers, the copy. Once delivered and paid for, it is yours.
The engine itself: the methods, the models, the software. Working with us transfers none of that.
You do. Your team sends the copy we deliver, which means your outreach must follow the laws that apply to it, CAN-SPAM among them. We give you the words. How they travel is yours.
Our total liability for anything arising from the service is capped at what you paid us for it. We are a small shop that builds careful things, and the terms are sized to match.
New York law governs, and New York courts if it ever comes to that. Before it ever comes to that, email me. Nearly everything is fixable in one conversation.
